Dayton Reggae Festival

The 2019 Downtown Dayton Summer Music Series concludes with the Dayton Reggae Festival presented by the City of Dayton. Enjoy some of the best reggae bands and performers from the Dayton region and beyond. This free concert features several live bands, along with many food and merchandise vendors. Blankets and lawn chairs welcome. Sorry, no tents, coolers, pets, grills, outside food and/or beverages allowed. Schedule performers include Johnny Payne and the True Believers, Da Squad, Seefari, The Flex Crew, and One Love. Free admission. For more information, call 333-8400.

September 1 - Tour de Gem
Start/End at RiverScape MetroPark pavilion, 237 E. Monument Ave.; various start times beginning at 7 a.m.
Join us for the 2nd annual Tour de Gem Cycling Classic! Tour de Gem (TdG) is a cycling event to highlight the Dayton region for cyclists of all ages and abilities. TdG is also a fundraising tool for local charities. Registration is $50 per person, with a $150 minimum fundraising goal to your designated charity. Email info@tourdegem.org to receive the code to register a team. Tour de Gem is a component Fund of The Dayton Foundation. The Square Is Where

The Square Is Where

Presented by the Downtown Dayton Partnership and Montgomery County, The Square Is Where features free live noontime entertainment in the heart of downtown on Courthouse Square. Enjoy food vendors, games, fun tournaments and themed days, and much more. Grab your friends and coworkers and take a lunchtime break! Thru August 30 - Exhibit: Abstracts: Old & New

Fifth/Third Center is presenting abstract paintings by Yellow Springs artist Christine Klinger in their Lobby Gallery; additional artwork can be seen on the second floor, Christine's style is intuitive and expressionistic and her themes deal with issues of the natural world and, specifically, water and our vital connection with it. AAVAG’s Exposition Through Art - Historic African American Churches of Southwest Ohio Art Exhibit will be available at Dayton Main Library, 2nd Floor Art Gallery. The 26 churches honored in the exhibit were chosen for their 75-plus years in existence ministering to their congregations, serving the communities in which they reside, and being civil rights advocates in their cities. 17 AAVAG member artists and invited artists, creating in a wide variety of medium, contributed their creative talents to celebrate the accomplishments and longevity of these churches. 463-2665.

K12 is pleased to present the exhibition and introduction to the developmental formula from master artist, Scott Gibbs. Scott Gibbs: Insights is the culmination that brings together over 400 works- spanning the start of his creative practice in the early 1980s to the present. For nearly four decades, Scott Gibbs has continuously sought new ways to create diversified experimental form through variant mediums. 461-5149.

The DAI presents its latest exhibits, Monet and Impressionism, and Our Century: Dayton Area Collects. Thursday, September 5, it's the next Tiny Thursdays programming. All truck fees for the month will be going toward The Dayton Foundation and we’ll also be hosting a special Dayton Market with free spaces for vendors selling for the Dayton Foundation or by passing along their fees as a donation. As with all brunch rallies, the trucks will be providing everything you love at brunch including biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs many different ways, breakfast meats, lunch options and much more all done with their unique twist! The Yellow Cab will be offering the cornerstone of a any good brunch, Coffee, Bloody Marys, and Mimosa (and craft brews)!

September 4 - Downtown Walking Wednesdays

These fun walks feature a different downtown route each week, taking you past a variety of landmarks and parts of our city while introducing you to other downtown workers who like to walk. Start your walk at Courthouse Square. Walks can be self-guided, so you can start at any time.
