We’ve compiled a list of summer camps offered in or near downtown Dayton for 2026. See each venue’s website or other links for more information or to sign up for a camp.
Black Box Improv Kidprov
We are excited to announce a five-day experience over the summer for kids (ages 9-12 & 13-17) to try their hand at improv right in their backyard. Each student will play their hearts out learning the power of listening, character building, and something in the improv world known as “yes, and,” all while making new friendships along the way. Not to mention, they’ll be looking stylish in their Black Box Improv Summer Camp T-Shirt.
To close out the week of learning, we will be throwing a Summer Camp Showcase where friends and family can come experience all the fun of a live show performed by the students themselves!

Please note that if your child is disrupting the learning of other students, we will politely ask you to keep your child home for the remainder of the camp with no refund!

Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

2 weeks at Sun Watch:
This year we are excited to offer 2 weeks of camp at SunWatch in addition to our regularly scheduled camps.
Campers will learn about SunWatch Village/Archaeological Park in its modern, historic, and pre-contact contexts. They will focus on archaeology and field science topics.
Camp will run from June 22-26 for ages 9-10, and July 20-24 for ages 11-14. For more information, check out our website and the handbook with more details about our summer camp programs.

Carillon Historical Park
Held throughout July, Settler Survival Camp at Carillon Historical Park is five days of early settlement fun. The Miami Valley comes to life from an early settler’s perspective during this exciting camp. Learn about early travel methods, hearth-cooking, woodworking, textiles, gardening, candle-dipping, and more.

City of Dayton: NextGen Leaders – NEXGEN
Teens gain entry-level skills, certifications, and experience to work/volunteer in community recreation and youth sports settings. It is hands-on, engaging, and provides them with foundational skills to work in recreation and youth sports.
Camp will be held primarily on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. However, there will be required attendance at several special events throughout the 6-week program. These events will give participants hands-on experience and give them a behind-the-scenes look at special events of various sizes, a major component of community recreation.
Before registering for the NextGen Leaders program, please be aware of the application process. After completing the online registration form, applicants will be asked to submit a written response via email for review. Depending on the submission, a brief phone interview may be required. Participants who are selected will be officially enrolled in the program, and a $60 participant fee will be due at that time to secure their spot.

Dayton Art Institute
Introduce your children to the world of art through Summer Art Camps at the DAI. Campers explore the museum with fun gallery games, new interdisciplinary art lessons, creative art projects and more. These half-day or week-long camps, taking place during June, July and August, are tailored to a variety of age groups and feature many different art activities.
Children will learn and get inspired by the museum’s collection and create their own masterpieces using 2D and 3D art-making techniques in our studios. Kids entering 1st grade through 9th grade will have fun all summer long in weekly, mixed-media art camps.

Dayton Kroc Center
Camp Kroc is a ministry of the Dayton Kroc Center. At the heart of the Camp Kroc philosophy is our focus on building authentic relationships with caring adults and other children, but most importantly, with Jesus. We call it a child-centered program; the campers call it the best summer ever!
Ages 5–12 (Must turn 5 by December 2025 and have completed Kingergarten prior to camp. Must not be 13 years old before August 1, 2026. Proof of age is required.)

The Dayton Live Creative Academy offers a variety of professionally curated performing arts experiences for all ages. Description: Join us this summer for DLCA SUMMER CAMP: POP GOES BROADWAY where today’s biggest hits meet the magic of the stage. Campers will bring popular songs from the radio to life with a Broadway-style twist, learning fun choreography, vocal techniques, and acting skills while performing ensemble numbers inspired by songs like “Cruel Summer,” “Feather,” and “Good Luck, Babe!” In addition to singing and dancing, campers will enjoy creative theatre games and activities that build confidence, teamwork, and stage presence. DLCA Summer Camp: Welcome To Hawkins

Age Recommendation: Ages 10-15
Description: Step into the world of Hawkins, Indiana, where mystery, friendship, and adventure await! Inspired by the hit series “Stranger Things,” this immersive theatre camp invites students to create their own supernatural stories, original characters, and dramatic scenes. Campers will explore acting, movement, storytelling, and ensemble work while building a thrilling narrative filled with secret labs, strange creatures, and heroic friendships. Students may also explore music and movement inspired by the show as part of their creative process and participate in light role-playing and collaborative storytelling activities inspired by tabletop games. Through improvisation, script development, and creative world-building, students will bring their own version of Hawkins to life. The week concludes with a final showcase for family and friends, featuring scenes and moments created by the campers themselves.

Through storytelling, pretend play, and simple choreography, students will explore what it means to be part of an ensemble and perform together. Description: Join us this summer for DLCA: RISE OF THE DEMON HUNTERS K-POP CAMP, a high energy theatre camp inspired by the world of the animated movie K-Pop Demon Hunters. Campers will step into the role of performer heroes as they learn choreography, vocal performance, and character work while building an original ensemble piece set in a dramatic, pop-powered world. Through music, movement, and scene work, participants will create a story about teamwork, courage, and finding your voice onstage. Learning Tree Farm
Learning Tree Farm is offering Summer Day Camps from July 6th- 9th and 13th-16th
No matter the age of your camper, there will be fun activities for all!
Farm Camp is a fully outdoor program designed to provide an immersive and active experience in nature, and around our farm animals.
Our Mini Farmers, ages 5-7, will have camp for 2 days (Mon&Tues) to work hard and play hard. This program is for younger campers learning how to have fun outdoors.
Our Junior Farmers, ages 6-12, will have camp for 4 days (Mon-Thurs) learning all about farm operations, animal husbandry, and outdoor recreation, like fishing skills, how to build a campfire, and recreational hiking. This program is for older curious campers wanting to dig deep into the world of outdoor recreation as a farmer and beyond.

Applications for the Signature Levitt Music & Arts Summer Day Camp are now open!
Signature Levitt Summer Camp Program is for all teens, ages 14 – 19 years old in the Dayton area who want to learn, perform, and work in the fields of music and /or creative arts. This one-week experience will give every camper the freedom to select their own summer camp activities track. We embrace your love for performance arts and as an innovative response to the pandemic Signature Educational Solutions and Home of Urban Creative Arts teamed up with Levitt Pavilion Dayton to lift the voices, and strengthen the individual and collective skill-set of aspiring youth in our community.
Due to the success of last year’s camp, we are able to provide FULL SCHOLARSHIP funding for each selected participant. We are encouraging everyone to get your application in as soon as possible, spaces are limited. The Summer 2026 program will offer opportunities in the areas of:

Elementary Day Camp: The “Wright” Path

Students will explore aviation and aeronautics following in the footsteps of the Wright Brothers during this exciting 3-Day Camp with an emphasis on the history of aviation and aeronautics including key innovators who were inspired by the natural world to achieve powered flight.
High School 4-Day Camp

High School students take an even deeper dive through learning modules in the exploration of several lucrative and sustainable careers in aviation and aeronautics through activities including working in teams to solve real-world problems and complete experiments in aeronautical engineering as well as piloting an airplane under the direction of an FAA-certified instructor. Students also receive helpful information about pursuing education and career opportunities within these exciting fields.

Middle School students are immersed for 5-days in hands-on STEM content and interactive engineering design challenges through the lens of aviation and aeronautics, as well as experience the thrill of flying up close and personal by flying an actual aircraft under the supervision of an FAA-certified pilot.

This is a unique and immersive opportunity for curious students to follow in the footsteps of the Wright Brothers and explore some of the natural world’s connections to modern aviation and aeronautics. Participants will delve into hands-on STEM activities designed to engage students in unique educational experiences, including falconry and engineering design challenges.

Elementary Day Camp: Forces of Flight Emphasizing Buoyancy, Lift & Drag

Explore the powerful forces that make flight possible through the exciting world of hot air balloons. With the backdrop of the Middletown Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival, students will investigate the forces of flight with a special focus on buoyancy, lift, and drag as they relate to airplanes, dirigibles, and hot air balloons. Through hands-on challenges and creative engineering activities, students will explore how temperature, air density, and design work together to send balloons soaring. From learning the basics of hot air balloons to designing parade balloons and testing engineering design challenges, students will think like scientists and engineers as they build, test, and launch their ideas into the sky.

STEM Day Camp: Robotics in Aviation

For high school students in grades 9-12
Step inside the world of advanced robotics at Yaskawa Motoman, a global leader in industrial robotics and automation. During this unique experience, students will go behind the scenes to explore how industrial robots are designed, built, and used in real-world manufacturing.
Participants will tour the facility to see how robots are manufactured, learn about the wide variety of robotic systems used in industry today, and watch live demonstrations of robots performing tasks commonly used in manufacturing and automation. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with select robotic systems and discover how engineers program robots to complete precise movements and complex tasks.
The experience will conclude with a hands-on coding activity where students will learn the basics of programming a robot, providing a glimpse into the exciting world of robotics, automation, and future STEM careers.
STEM Day Camp: Girls in Aviation

For high school students entering grades 9-12 in the fall
Girls in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 will explore exciting STEM pathways connected to aviation and aeronautics through a day of hands-on learning and real-world experiences. Participants will collaborate with peers to solve engineering challenges, learn how pilots prepare aircraft for flight, build technical skills through activities like soldering and flight simulation, and gain insight into aviation careers. The experience culminates with the opportunity to pilot an aircraft alongside an FAA-certified flight instructor, giving students a unique chance to see themselves in the future of aviation and STEM.
Sinclair College WiSTEM
The Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (WiSTEM) Institute is an amazing opportunity to learn about STEM fields. WiSTEM is open to students who are entering grades 10, 11, and 12. Each day you will participate in “hands-on” lab sessions in which you will build, experiment, and discover more about each of these exciting fields.

University of Dayton RECkids Camp
University of Dayton’s RECkids Camp is a day camp promoting healthy lifestyles for six- to 12-year-old children. Camp is open to all University of Dayton and surrounding-area community children. Our goal is to inspire campers to discover their best selves through playful inquiry, cooperative learning, and positive group culture. By working towards these goals, our campers will:
- Leave with a newly gained confidence in themselves.
- Develop a love for learning, growing, and playing.
- Discover and develop their personal best.
- Act in ways consistent with their values.
- Help to create a community where trust, cooperation, and respect are the foundation.
Camp runs daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; early drop-off and late pick-up are available for an additional cost.
