Girls will lead with courage when they speak out on issues they care about and take active roles in their communities. Girls will lead with confidence when they make the most of their strengths and feel empowered to make a difference in their lives and beyond. Girls will lead with character when they act with integrity and compassion, making decisions that promote the well-being of themselves and others. We hope you enjoy our demo and we are always welcoming girls who want to be a part of the Girl Scout Family. We hope you’ll join us as we inspire tomorrow’s leaders!

Chris Hahn and Jenna Valyn are the Founding Artistic Directors of The Playground. Since The Playground’s inception in June of 2014, they have produced 12 successful professional productions including two collaborations with the University of Dayton Theatre, Dance and Performance Technology Program. They have received critical acclaim from the community including several Daytony awards, been named Daytonians of the Week by Dayton.com, featured in the popular online publication, The Penny Hoarder, and chosen to be part of The Victoria Theatre Association’s ImPACt program from 2015 to 2018.
As Artistic Directors of The Playground, Chris and Jenna play many roles both on and off stage. They serve as directors, actors, set and sound designers, and business administrators. They have worked together to create a unique brand and theatrical style that speaks to new audiences and avid theatre-goers alike and they are committed to producing modern and engaging promotional material. For the past 4 years they have collaborated with their friends Knack Creative to write, film, and produce trailers for each of their productions.
The Playground’s purpose is to produce contemporary plays that are both relevant and universally relatable. Our goal is to create a theatre experience that is approachable, accessible and inclusive. We hope to introduce new audiences to theatre, because it is a unique, artistic experience unlike anything else.
