RTA Offers Free Rides as Part of Anniversary Celebration

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

The Greater Dayton RTA is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and riders will reap the benefits. All weekday rides after 5 p.m. now through December 30 will be free. Free rides after 5 p.m. apply to both fixed-route and paratransit services. Riders can also still take advantage of free weekend rides on Saturdays and Sundays through January 1, 2023. A family-friendly event for the RTA’s anniversary is planned as part of the Dayton Holiday Festival, which is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The public RTA event is happening from 4 to 9 p.m. at Wright Stop Plaza and will include a kids’ area, photo booth, t-shirts, and an educational presentation on the history of RTA. The event coincides with the Grande Illumination and Dayton Children’s Parade, happening just across the street at Courthouse Square.
