Continue or start a holiday tradition by skating with friends and family at RiverScape MetroPark's covered ice rink. The rink will be open on Christmas Eve until 5 p.m., and will re-open Christmas Day at 1 p.m. for an old fashioned family Christmas skate. Enjoy the festive atmosphere and splendid scenery, seasonal lighting displays, warm outdoor fireplaces and hot chocolate from the park's food concession. $7 admission includes skate rental. Dayton Holiday Festival; Several businesses throughout downtown.
This annual contest shows off the creativity of downtown Dayton’s collection of small businesses as they decorate their storefront windows for the holidays in their own unique ways. The Dayton Holiday Festival fun continues through December with Family Weekends presented by DP&L and other fun holiday activities! The darkest nights of the year are going to be some of the liveliest, as the Yellow Cab Tavern hosts the first annual Winter Solstice Concert Series with performances from local tribute acts Petty Thieves, Come Together, Set the Controls, Road Eyes and Great Northern String Band. Holiday Train Display

Visitors of all ages can view this beloved, one-of-a-kind model train display that was given to the community by Mrs. Virginia Kettering. The display can also be viewed through the building windows anytime.

Sheltered under the covered pavilion, the MetroParks Ice Rink sets the scene as a perfect winter wonderland in downtown Dayton. Patrons may skate daily, including all holidays. While the rink is open, you can enjoy delicious treats from the concession area, including a cup of hot chocolate. Music legends and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members The Drifters, The Platters and The Cornell Gunter Coasters will be performing at the Victoria Theatre. The Drifters were the first musical group to sell over two million records with their pop classic “Up on the Roof.” They were the first African-American vocal group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their classic tune “Under the Boardwalk” is the most played R&B record of all time. The Platters hit single “Only You” launched the group as superstars on the world stage.
