Continue or start a holiday tradition by skating with friends and family at RiverScape MetroPark's covered ice rink. The rink will be open on Christmas Eve until 5 p.m., and will re-open Christmas Day at 1 p.m. for an old fashioned family Christmas skate. Enjoy the festive atmosphere and splendid scenery, seasonal lighting displays, outdoor warming stations, and hot chocolate from the park's food concession. $8 admission includes skate rental. Ride the Festive Flyer &
RTA Holiday Bus

Bus routes, including Downtown Dayton routes and stops.
This year the RTA is debuting two “Festive Flyer” buses in constant circulation on the downtown route. The two buses are decorated with snowflakes on the outside and include holiday decorations on the inside. Also included is a custom “selfie photo booth,” where riders can take pictures and share their experience. Also, watch for the special RTA Holiday Bus this season, featuring a gingerbread design, festive decorations, and free candy canes for riders! The bus changes routes daily - a schedule can be found at iriderta.org.

Holiday Train Display

Visitors of all ages can view this beloved, one-of-a-kind model train display that was given to the community by Mrs. Virginia Kettering. The display can also be viewed through the building windows anytime.

Sheltered under the covered pavilion, the MetroParks Ice Rink sets the scene as a perfect winter wonderland in downtown Dayton. Patrons may skate daily, including all holidays. While the rink is open, you can enjoy delicious treats from the concession area, including a cup of hot chocolate. Blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar screenings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Premier Health will offer these screenings for both the insured and uninsured. In addition, health care providers and partners will also be providing information and assistance on maternal health, infant care, diabetes awareness, tobacco use, and health insurance information. The event is free and open to the public.
