For 90 years, Christ Church has provided a grand celebration of community in downtown Dayton while raising money for programs that serve the area as well as our church. Enjoy homemade waffles, sausages from Landes Meats, soups, sandwiches and desserts. In addition to eat-in and carryout dining, Waffle Shop includes a craft bazaar, bake sale, Elsie's Attic rummage sale, and a raffle. Each day features a different celebrity baker! Holiday Gift Gallery

The Contemporary Dayton,

This annual show transforms the downtown gallery into an all-art, all-original, all-local, fine art and fine craft gift gallery where guests can shop their gift list from hundreds of unique items created by Miami Valley artists. Prices vary and there are items available for every budget. Gallery design by Chris “Red” Newman, DayTony-award-winning set designer. Also each Thursday in December during the Holiday Gift Gallery, we’ll be offering “Pop-Up Yummies & Celebrity “Wrap” Nights, local restaurants and celebrities will come to the gallery offering delicious culinary treats for you to indulge in while you shop the Holiday Gift Gallery.

Dayton Holiday Festival
Kickoff Events

Courthouse Square and vicinity in Downtown Dayton; 4-9 p.m.
The Dayton Holiday Festival, presented by DP&L, is your source for family-friendly holiday fun in downtown Dayton. The festival kicks off Thanksgiving weekend with the Grande Illumination tree lighting (presented by DP&L) and the Dayton Children's Parade Spectacular in Lights (presented by White Allen). But the tree lighting and parade aren't the only highlights that night! A full evening of fun holiday entertainment and activities is planned from 4 to 9 p.m., including live Main Stage entertainment, Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays, the Street Fair on Third, holiday crafts for kids, a holiday adventure around the festival footprint, horse-drawn wagon rides, live reindeer, and much more. The Cake

The Cake tells the story of Della, a baker who’s given pause when the girl she helped raise comes home for her wedding and Della realizes that her fiance is actually a fiancee. Della’s husband Tim says she couldn’t possibly bake their wedding cake, but can she? Should she? Miracle on 34th Street:
A Live Radio Play

In this Christmas classic, brought to you in a live 1940s radio style format, an old man going by the name of Kris Kringle fills in for an intoxicated Santa in Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day parade. When Kringle surprises customers and employees alike by claiming that he really is Santa Claus, it leads to a court case to determine his mental health and, more importantly, his authenticity. We will have live Foley sound effects on stage as well as commercial breaks to advertise for local businesses. Buy tickets here. 222-7848.

Exhibit: Small but Mighty

Buy Art, Buy Local this Holiday Season! Join us as the Dayton Society of Artists presents their latest show, "Small but Mighty." The exhibit features work that is all 12" x 12" x 12" or smaller and all artwork is priced under $400. The show was juried by Peter Doebler from the Dayton Art Institute.

Thru March 31 - Tour de Way
100+ locations along the Great Miami Riverway, including several in downtown Dayton.
Over 100 locations are offering $3,000 in prizes! Travis Charles is a veteran comic out of Richmond, VA. His humor tends to come directly from his life experiences, for better or worse. His brutal honesty about his life and the world in general is somehow both abrasive and endearing. As the hilarious creator of The Most Offensive Show on Earth at Wiley's Comedy Club, he's not at all afraid to push some of the boundaries of good taste in a way that stays somehow remarkably palatable. $10. 223-5277.

November 15-17 - Fall Play: A Midsummer Night's Dream

Pairs of lovers - some young, some old, some mortal, some mystical, and one a little hard to describe - cross paths in a mysterious forest where fairies are in charge and magic abounds. Shakespeare weaves the story with his own magical words in the timeless tale of love, revenge - and a man with the head of a donkey. Tickets for adults are $10 and student tickets are $5.
