The beginning of every month starts with a bang in downtown Dayton. First Friday is a free art hop featuring exhibit openings at the galleries, along with a variety of entertainment options, arts demonstrations, live music and more. Add to that everything going on at the restaurants, bars, nightclubs, theaters, comedy club, movie theater and more that make up the downtown mix. First Fridays are a great time to give thanks for the small business owners who comprise most of downtown’s entrepreneurial landscape, and Nov. 2’s First Friday lineup is no exception. The Flyer Launch Party

Join us as we celebrate the launch of The Flyer shuttle service. The first rides on The Flyer will leave from the stop at Courthouse Square during this event, which will feature giveaways, hot drinks and comments from RTA and partners about the new service.
The Flyer provides easy access to offices, local dining, nightlife, entertainment, parks, hotels, parking, and all that downtown Dayton has to offer in 10 minutes or less.

Jefferson Starship

One of the most influential and most memorable rock groups from the 1960s takes the stage alongside the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra for an unbelievable concert set to blast off this season’s Rockin’ Orchestra series at the Schuster Center. Jefferson Airplane defined the “San Francisco Sound” and became the first of the Bay Area bands to gain national acclaim. The band, which evolved into Jefferson Starship in 1974, gave the music world songs that not only helped create an era but also have remained relevant even today. ticketcenterstage.com.

From VH1’s Emmy award winning reality show, Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Club Masque welcomes The Bodybuilding Barbie herself, Kameron Michaels! The DAI presents its latest exhibit, Muse: Mickalene Thomas Photographs, along with the companion exhibition tete-a-tete. The DAI's Story continues to be on view in the Experiencenter. Saturday, November 3, hear a free, 20-minute gallery talk at Sound Bites: Short Talks about Art. Thursday, November 8, is the next Tiny Thursdays program for children and their parents or caregivers. The Dayton Human Relations Council presents a fundraiser to support critical services for the Dayton area’s immigrant and refugee community members. “One City: Many People, Many Voices” is a way for the greater Dayton community to invest in welcoming immigrants who are already here and those who may come in the future. Guests will enjoy appetizers celebrating Dayton’s international flavors, entertainment by Rev. Cool and a cash bar.
