Nonprofit Plans to Open Secondhand Bookstore Downtown

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

A used bookstore is expected downtown before the end of 2022. Larkin Vonalt, executive director of the Dayton Book Fair and owner of Rabbit Hole Books, tells Dayton.com she plans to open the new store at 27 W. First Street before Christmas. Vonalt hopes to expand into the space next door in the spring of 2023. Rabbit Hole Books will sell thousands of books for all ages for just $1 each. The store is also expected to sell greeting cards, and gifts and hopes to partner with a local business to serve coffee and pastries to shoppers. Dayton Book Fair will continue to hold its annual book sale once Rabbit Hole Books is open.
