Downtown’s newest hotel is getting closer to its opening day. The AC Hotel by Marriott has announced ongoing hiring and a leadership team. The new hotel is currently under construction at 124 Madison Street in the Water Street District and is expected to open in March of this year. In addition to 134 rooms, the hotel will also include a media library, fitness center, and The Foundry Rooftop Bar and Restaurant for event space and private dining. More than 160 people attended hiring events for the hotel earlier this month and hotel leaders say several new employees will be starting in the coming weeks depending on their positions. “Not only do I look forward to welcoming visitors to the area, but to establishing the hotel as a pillar of the community during this important time of revitalization,” General Manager of the AC Hotel Dayton, Ian Legros, tells the Dayton Business Journal.
