New Downtown Market to Highlight Local Food Vendors

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

A new grab-and-go food concept is in the works downtown. District Market is expected to open at 200 Wayne Ave. this November. The market is a concept from Tae Winston, owner of the Entrepreneurs Shoppe, and will feature seven vending startups. Each startup will sign a temporary lease to allow more businesses to benefit from the education and exposure that the market will provide. Once open, Winston tells the Dayton Business Journal that she has plans to expand the storefront to include a commercial kitchen. Until that time, vendors will prepare their wares off-site to then sell at the market. So far, three businesses have already signed leases for space inside District Market. Once open, the market will have hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.
