New Boutique Helps to Style Man’s Best Friend

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

A new downtown business, EmBARK Dayton Dog Supply, is set to open this weekend in the Fire Blocks District. Owners Ben and Nicole Miller say the business venture started in 2020 during the first COVID-19 lockdowns when Nicole started designing and selling dog bandanas online. The brand has continued to grow from an Etsy shop to selling at markets around Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus. EmBARK has since expanded to sell collars, grooming supplies, dog food, custom leashes, and other accessories. While some of the items for sale will be made by EmBARK, the boutique will also feature a section for small businesses and Ohio-made products. Once the store opens, it will be downtown’s only business focused on dog supplies. The shop’s first brick and mortar location will hold a launch party starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29. EmBARK Dayton Dog Supply can be found at 33 S. St. Clair St. among the shops at St. Clair Lofts.
