Salt Block Biscuit Company, a bakery that will serve a menu of biscuits, sandwiches, cobblers, cakes, and more, will open on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 115 E. Third St. in the Fire Blocks District. The bakery’s specialty — biscuits — will be available in at least five different varieties each day, and served with house-made butters, infused honey, and other spreads, said chef Justin Mohler, who has honed his craft after working in several Dayton-area restaurants, such as the former Blue Moon, Christopher’s Restaurant, and the former Olive, An Urban Dive. Salt Block Biscuit will also be open for a late-night crowd on Fridays and Saturdays, offering tapas and dessert options. The bakery hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
