Reconstruction Begins on Pedestrian Bridge at RiverScape

Mike Colvin Downtown Progress, Fast Facts

If you’ve driven, walked, or biked by RiverScape MetroPark downtown in recent days, you may have noticed the pedestrian bridge from Deeds Point has been dismantled. A partnership between the city of Dayton, Five Rivers MetroParks and the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission will fund the $2.1 million reconstruction of the bridge, with construction expected to be completed by the end of this year, according to a Dayton Daily News report. The bridge was closed in November 2018 after corrosion on the metal frame was discovered and it was determined, for the safety of future use, the structure needed to be replaced.
