Out on 5th Offers Outdoor Experiences in Downtown Dayton

Mike Colvin Downtown Progress, Fast Facts

The weekend street closure of the Oregon District called “Out on 5th” began last week and gives guests an opportunity to visit downtown Dayton businesses with an expansion of outdoor eating, shopping and pedestrian areas. The Out on 5th street closure is within the boundaries of the newly enacted Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) in downtown Dayton, where patrons can purchase an alcoholic beverage served in a branded cup and travel within the boundaries of the DORA to other businesses. The Out on 5th pedestrian zone will take place each weekend in the Oregon District starting Friday evenings at 5 p.m., through Sundays until the end of October. The DORA is now a daily feature of downtown, and is in effect daily from noon to 10 p.m. If you’re looking to visit downtown Dayton restaurants, bars, retail shops, coffee shops, and more, you can find hours of operation and information about services such as patios and takeout orders on the OPEN* page at www.downtowndayton.org/open.
