Fast Facts: Grist Re-opens in Redesigned Downtown Space

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

If you love fresh-made pastas, breads, and desserts, then you must make your way to Grist in its new downtown Dayton location at 46 W. Fifth Street. Chefs Casey and Patrick Van Voorhis – who have worked in kitchens from Napa Valley to New York – returned to Dayton and have spent the past six months designing and building their kitchen and storefront in the space. Grist not only offers its daily pasta, bread, and desserts, but the chefs also expanded the menu to include sandwiches, soups, and salads – available for dine in or carryout. A curated collection of garnishes, sauces, and cheeses also are available in the store, and in the future they plan to hold cooking classes in the kitchen. Grist is open six days a week, Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
