Our most sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of the late Franco Germano, founder of Franco’s Ristorante Italiano in the Oregon District. A native of Duronia, Italy, Franco moved to the United States at the age of 18. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and returning home to work in various roles in the food service industry, Franco opened his namesake restaurant in 1976.
