Mile Two, a downtown-based software development and design company, has partnered with the U.S. Air Force to expand opportunities for local entrepreneurs to work with the military. Mile Two and the Air Force formed the Small Business Innovation Research-Small Business Technology Transfer Collaboration Center, now open at 711 E. Monument Ave. The aim of the collaboration center is to accelerate the contracting process and through technical expertise, aid small local businesses who win bids for military work. The facility allows Air Force employees to more quickly interact with contractors to expedite work flow, allowing small businesses to tap into the SBIR/STTR program’s $800 million annual budget.
