Fast Facts: Downtown Bar and Distillery Opens New Patio

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

After starting construction this spring on a patio space, The Van Buren Room cocktail bar in the Oregon District has opened the outdoor seating area to guests, adding socially-distanced room for an additional 30 people. The new patio includes tables with umbrellas, and a new sound system, co-owners of the bar told the Dayton Daily News. The extra space on the patio comes at a time when businesses are putting in extra measures to keep patrons and staff safe, which includes spaced-out seating, wearing masks until seated, and extra cleaning of touch-point surfaces. The Van Buren Room also has adjusted part of the new summer cocktail menu to serve 2-4 drinks each. Owners say the goal is to eliminate the need for guests to get up and down as frequently.
