Fast Facts: Axe-throwing Business Signs Lease in Downtown Dayton

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

The newest location of a Connecticut-based axe-throwing businesses will be in downtown Dayton. Blue Ox Axe Throwing has signed a lease to occupy 4,600 square feet on the ground floor of 804 E. Monument Avenue, according to the Dayton Business Journal. Corporate owners were drawn to the idea of opening their first Ohio franchise in Dayton because of the similarities of the resurgence of the city to their home base in Connecticut. Blue Ox Axe expects to begin building out the space once permit approvals are in place, and expects construction to take about a month. The axe-throwing venue will let guests bring in their own food and alcohol, allowing beer, wine and hard cider, but hard liquor will not permitted. This is the second axe-throwing destination that is planned for downtown Dayton, with another expected to open later this year in the Fire Blocks District.
