Celebrating its second annual event, the Yellow Cab Tavern is excited to host two stages of great local music at the Sound Valley Summer Music Festival on Saturday, August 31 at 4pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit SICSA Pet Adoption Center and The Dayton Foundation.
“Ashley [Pitts, co-founder] and I couldn’t be happier to see all of the growth we’ve been able to experience with Sound Valley over the last year,” Zac Pitts, Sound Valley founder said. “The Summer Music Festival last year was our first big introduction to the Dayton area, so we’re excited to bring it back for the second annual event.”
With an indoor stage and an outdoors stage in the Yellow Cab’s parking lot, confirmed performers for this year’s Summer Music Fest include The Nightbeast, TINO, The New Old-Fashioned, The 1984 Draft, The Boxcar Suite, DC King, Grenades!?, McGuff and the Dumpster Fires, Salvadore Ross, Better Anyway, Amber Hargett and The Who’s Who, and The Typical Johnsons.
“It never ceases to amaze me all of the talent right here in the Miami Valley,” Pitts said. “This is absolutely a dream festival for us and being able to raise money for not one, but two great local causes is a privilege.”
In addition to raising money for SICSA Pet Adoption Center as initially announced, the organizers and a number of bands have donated their proceeds from the event to The Dayton Foundation and the funds established for those affected by the Oregon District tragedy, as well as victims from the Memorial Day tornadoes.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 on the day of with gates at 4pm. The Yellow Cab Tavern is located at 700 E. 4th St. in Dayton – near the Oregon District.
