RTA Interactive Hiring Event

The Greater Dayton RTA will let you test drive a new career during an interactive hiring event September 27 at the University of Dayton Arena. Prospective bus drivers will be offered the chance to get behind the wheel of the agency’s big buses and/or small non-CDL buses and get a feel for what it means to be a bus driver. The RTA will conduct interviews September 27 from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at UD Arena. Candidates must bring and hold a valid Driver’s License, along with a copy of their resume. After successfully completing an interview, RTA trainers will be on hand to assist applicants with a vehicle test drive, and ensure the ride goes smoothly. By getting a feel for what it’s like to drive one of the agency’s top-of-the-line vehicles, the hope is candidates will feel more connected to their future career. The starting wage for CDL bus drivers is $18 per hour and after 7 years of employment make $30 per hour. Non-CDL drivers start at $15.75 per hour.
