An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until Wednesday, June 8, 2022
Dayton Metro Library will host the traveling collaborative student exhibition, Walking With Words. In the exhibit, University of Dayton Department of Art and Design graphic design students visualized 20 poems by Dayton poet Sierra Leone. Students created new meaning to Leone’s poems by celebrating humanity, community, inclusivity, and diversity.
Walking With Words will be displayed at Main Library, Wednesday, May 4 – Wednesday, June 8
Leone is the Inaugural Community Artist in Residence and Visiting Scholar at The Hub.
The exhibit also features new work by Misty Thomas-Trout that educates patrons on dyslexia through the visualization of Leone’s poem titled My Native Tongue is Silence.
The exhibit is available for viewing during open Library hours. For more information about Walking With Words, visit the Library’s Events Calendar at DaytonMetroLibrary.org/Programs, or call the Library’s Ask Me Line at 937.463.2665.
