Ira Beryl Brukner’s paintings will be shown on July 1st, First Friday in Dayton, from 4:00-10:00 pm at The Orphanage Gallery and Momentum Gallery located at 73 N Dutoit St. After that, they can be seen there until July 17th (by appointment) and on the Third Sunday, July 17th from 11:00-4:00pm.
Ira Beryl Brukner, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, was a self-taught artist who began painting in his late 40’s. He published four books of poetry, performed with jazz musicians and taught poetry in the schools. In 2000, he said, “I couldn’t find the music and rhythms of poetry anymore.” He picked up a piece of cerulean blue pastel chalk was ecstatic to make art.
