As we begin to safely resume gathering and rediscovering all the great things downtown has to offer, we’re especially excited to get back to all the fun events we’ve missed so much!

Dayton LGBT Film Festival: Potato Dreams of America

The Dayton LGBT Film Festival is in its 16th Year, and we wanted to bring it back to you at THE NEON. With precautions in place (masks are required and there will be spacing between parties), we are offering every film two times over the course of the week. Though we won’t have special guests in person this year, we hope to add virtual Q&As whenever possible. We can’t wait to share these great films with you in person!

Potato Dreams of America

Struggling to survive in the USSR during the turbulent years of Perestroika, Lena and her gay son, Potato, escape into the fantasy world of pirated American movies, but soon the movies are not enough and Elena decides to become a mail-order bride. Closely based on the directors childhood, Potato Dreams of America is one of those stories that prove that real life is often much stranger than fiction.
