On Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 8 pm in the Mead Theatre of the Schuster Center, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, under the leadership of Conductor Patrick Reynolds, will present A Celtic Tenors Christmas, the second concert in the Kettering Health Network 2019–2020 SuperPops Season.
The music of Ireland: the passage of ages, the ache of loss and the joy of triumph. The world-class Celtic Tenors perform holiday traditions, Irish favorites, classical arias, and popular songs that consistently bring audiences around the world to tears, to laughter, and to their feet.
With a polished international reputation and just over a million album sales under their belts, The Celtic Tenors offer something truly unique – the skill, range and ability of world-class tenors combined with the personality and fun of genuine artists. They have performed together for over 14 years and offer more than beautiful voices and musical knowledge; namely, the sound that evokes the very soul of the Emerald Isle.
Matthew Gilsenan, James Nelson and Daryl Simpson deliver beautiful harmonic vocals that cover all genres, from classical and folk to Irish and pop, taking their audiences on a far-ranging musical voyage. These three operatic magicians join the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra to enchant audiences with their gorgeous renditions of Irish folk classics and favorite Christmas tunes, including “Silent Night,” “The First Noel,” “O Holy Night,” and “Joy to the World.” It’s an evening of music sure to light up hearts with the real spirit of the season!
