Enter your best shots in the Downtown in Focus photo contest

Grab your cameras and hit the streets of downtown Dayton. Your snapshot could be worth $100! The Downtown in Focus photo contest seeks submissions from professional and amateur photographers depicting different aspects of the downtown lifestyle. Thanks to Dayton.com for hosting the online submissions and voting contest.

One amateur winner and one professional winner will be selected in each of the following categories:

  • Cityscapes - Show us your best iconic shot of downtown Dayton. It could be unique architecture, the skyline, or another structural element of the city.
  • Uniquely Downtown - Dayton is full of unique businesses and attractions that keep us coming back. What do you think makes downtown unlike any other place? From dining hotspots to boutique shops, brewpubs to art galleries, parks to performance venues, show us the places and faces that make downtown one of a kind.
  • DP&L Summer in the City - There’s so much to love about downtown in the summer. Whether you hit up a festival, First Friday hotspot, The Square Is Where trivia day, or one of the DP&L Summer in the City signature events like the Housing Tour, Adventure Race and Street Party, or Art in the City event, we want to see what you love most about your downtown in summertime.

There will also be a People’s Choice winner via Dayton.com’s online voting tool. Top photos eligible for People’s Choice will be decided by the Downtown in Focus judges.

Honorable Mentions also will be awarded.

There is no fee to enter the contest. Photographers are not required to be Dayton-area residents, but photos must be taken downtown.

Photographers wishing to enter the contest must adhere to the full contest rules and guidelines - please read them carefully.

Any drone use must be in compliance with FAA regulations. For more information:
