urban nights: sept. 11, 2009!

Walk on downtown's creative side!

Our fall Urban Nights event on Friday, September 11, was a huge success! More than 25,000 people packed the streets for a full night of entertainment, dining and nightlife.

Highlights from this past Urban Nights:

  • ArtsFest on Courthouse Square featured previews of the upcoming performing arts seasons
  • The Rev. Cool Arkestra & Dance Ensemble and Beatles tribute band Ticket to Ride rocked the Courthouse Square main stage
  • The Community Stage featured 10-minute performances of all kinds by Dayton Originals
  • Great live music and other entertaining performances were enjoyed at satellite stages throughout downtown
  • An interactive art Chalk Walk decorated Main St. between Second and Third Sts.
  • Food from area restaurants was sampled at RiverScape MetroPark's Taste of the Miami Valley

What is Urban Nights?
Businesses and restaurants offer special discounts, artists and galleries open their doors to the public, musicians and entertainers of all kinds perform throughout the center city, and downtown's most impressive urban living options are open for tours. Nearly 100 creative places and spaces will be part of the event, including locations throughout downtown, the Oregon Arts District and the Wright-Dunbar Business Village.
