Fast Facts: Two New Dining Options Debuting Downtown

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

Two new eateries are set to open this year on opposite ends of downtown Dayton:

  • Salt Block Biscuit Co.: This new bakery is the latest purveyor to open at District Provisions at 521 Wayne Ave. Owner Justin Mohler, who has more than 18 years of experience as a pastry chef for local restaurants, said the business will offer breakfast and lunch options, with a specialization in desserts. A grand opening date is pending.
  • Local Cantina: Columbus-based Local Cantina announced this month that its first location outside of the Columbus region will be inside Centerfield Flats, the new apartment building just beyond the outfield fence of Fifth Third Field. The Tex-Mex restaurant and bar touts its “craft beer, handcrafted tacos, and finely crafted spirits.” Local Cantina plans to open its doors later this year when building construction is complete.
